Ok, I have to ask this question. Why do most black people take offense to peoples color preference? It seems that people can have a preference for everything except skin color. For example, if a woman says she doesn’t date men under 6’ feet, most people wouldn’t have a problem with that. If a guy says he’s not attracted to full figured women, no one says anything. However, if a person says he or she prefers light over dark skin, all hell breaks loose. Isn’t skin color a physical characteristic such as being short, full figured, or ugly?

Not dating someone because the person is ugly is no different from not dating the person because the individual is too dark. Why is color so taboo?

Thats a good question. I get reverse racism from Black men because I am attracted to Indian men. Why is that Black men? Why the double standard?

For the say reasons as you said. Some women may like a man under 6 feet and a man may not like a full figure woman. An some may not want to have someone that is to like or to dark. We all have our likes and dislikes in everything we do whether its a person or our clothes its just our own personal style. Why some people act a fool over it is down right ridiculous

I think people who take it to the heart over someone else preferences are people who have been shot down or had a bad experience with someone who they desired. For instance a woman who is dark-skinned may have been dissed by a man she thought was attractive because he is only into light-skinned or mixed girls. So that dark-skinned sister may get very irritated when she see's a brother with a light-skinned girl or if she's in the same room with a light-skinned sister and the men in the room may refer to the lighter one as "sexy" or a "redbone". I have seen this happen many a day.  BangHead
