As Saalam Alaikum,

For the believers under Minister Louis Farrakhan I have a question pertaining to the 'holiday season'. I am a registered memeber in the NOI, but I am not currently active in the Mosque. My question, and I hope some of you can share some insight on this issue, is how to teach our children as far these holidays go? My children(ages 11 and 7) attend public school, and just about all my family and friends are christian so the pressure is all around my children to want to believe as the majority does. It's difficult to try to explain to them why I dont follow the "traditions" that all of their friends and family follow, and no matter how I try to break it down to them they still feel slighted during this time of year.

Do you have any info on how I can properly raise my children in regards to these holidays, where as they dont feel like Im slighting them during this time of year. Your advice is much appreciated.
